Superman, the Man of Steel, the alien from another world with countless powers, he was Lex Luthor’s arch foe. His only weakness was Kryptonite; when exposed he would become weak and a glowing green color as his energy was drained from his body, making him vulnerable.

Yet that wasn’t the case this time. Lex Luthor stared at his nemesis and rubbed at his eyes, disbelieving the sight before him. “What the hell?” He asked as he stared at the glowing Kryptonite in his hand. “What the hell, Clark?” Lex demanded as he broke from his normal charade of pretending he didn’t know his enemy was his once best friend.

“We’ve entered the Twilight zone, Lex.” Clark grinned as his suit continued to glow rainbow. “The Twilight Zone?” Lex blinked and glanced around himself. “So when I get back on my private jet tonight to fly off to my meeting business in Paris I shouldn’t panic too much if I see a monster on the wing?” “Not that Twilight Zone, I mean the Twilight zone as in the movie and book series Twilight. We’re in that zone.” Clark continued to grin happily. “What?” Lex snapped, not understanding anything. “Is this more Smallville weirdness? I’m sick of this town,” he murmured. “You know, Twilight; the book that created vampires that sparkle in the sunlight instead of catching on fire or dying.” Clark looked down at his rainbow suit and shrugged. “My suit glowing rainbow when Kryptonite is around me is the equivalent of what that author wrote. Instead of my weakness hurting me, it’s just making me seem ridiculous.” “Okay,” Lex nodded, understanding a little bit better. “But how did we get sucked into this Twilight zone?” “I’m not too sure,” Clark admitted, “But I do know one thing about the book that I liked the idea of.” “What’s that?” Lex asked, humoring Clark while he wondered what could kill him while in a reversed zone. Would pie do the trick then? Maybe a steel bullet like that used to kill a werewolf? Wait, Clark had mentioned vampires, not werewolves. “In the book, the stalker ended up getting the one he stalked as his life partner or something like that. I don’t know what they called it but they ended up together.” Clark explained. “I care why?” Lex questioned, raising an eyebrow. “Because you were kind of stalking me at one point,” Clark reminded and Lex froze, staring, as the implication sunk in. “You like Lana,” Lex pointed out. “My suit is glowing rainbow.” Clark countered. Lex stared at the glowing suit and tossed the useless Kryptonite over his shoulder with a grin. “Well then, when in Twilight, do as Twilight.”
