They were all pretty pissed off. Well, Bruce wasn’t because he was still Bruce and not the Hulk, but Tony and Natasha looked ready to kill someone even though Natasha always looked ready to kill someone. Still, Steve looked angry and everyone knew that was bad since only Nazis, people threatening the Earth, and Tony Stark could ever really get Steve mad.

They had all stormed out of Fury’s office when he had revealed his lie. Natasha led them to the medical area where they found Coulson lying in bed, recovering from his wound with an IV drip in his arm.

Coulson placed the paperwork he had been working on aside when they started into his room. “I was expecting this.” He stated calmly.

“I hope you were expecting me to tear you a new one, Phil, because I can’t believe that you would stoop so low. Of course Fury would, the bastard hasn’t stopped lying to us and I don’t think he ever will, but really, I expected better from you.” Tony fumed as he threw his arms in the air and paced the room. Steve crossed his arms over his chest and looked disappointed at the same time as being angry. Steve seemed to be having a harsher affect on Coulson than Tony’s words but that didn’t make him stop talking.

“You’re going to have to be the one to call Thor long distance and apologize to him because the big guy still thinks you’re dead and that it was all his fault because it was Loki that did it.” Tony accused as Clint finally showed up to join the angry party.

“Sir,” Clint stared at Coulson.

“No way, bird boy, I’m not done chewing him out yet, I haven’t even gotten started. Feel free to go after me though.” Tony was ignored as Clint practically sprinted across the short distance to straddle Coulson without actually jostling the bed. Spies had the strangest yet handiest abilities sometimes.

“You were dead.” Clint murmured lowly as he pressed his forehead against Coulson’s.

“I’m sorry,” Coulson lifted the arm without an IV to gently touch Clint’s cheek.

“You promised that you would be with me forever and our forever just began. You’re not allowed to cut it short.” Clint’s eyes were closed as he whispered the words. They were obviously meant to only be heard by Coulson but Clint wasn’t as in control of himself as he normally would be and his words were loud enough to be heard by everyone.

Suddenly understanding that they were interrupting a private moment, the other Avengers slowly began to shuffle out of the room. Tony cleared his throat in the doorway. “I’m still not done with you, Phil.”

“File a report about it, Mr. Stark, and stop using my first name please.” Coulson retorted around Clint as the specialist’s shoulders began to shake. Coulson’s arm moved from Clint’s face to rub soothingly at his back as he whispered words that Tony couldn’t hear as he closed the door.
