So I was planning on being productive for these last few days of break before I have to start Rowing and College back up on Monday. I was prepared to write/finish off at least two more fics. But then I started playing the Sims 3 for my Wii and, well, there went any productivity for the rest of this break. Seriously, such a pointless game and yet I am addicted to it. It probably doesn't help that the first four characters I made were Harry and Perry from Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang and then Jensen and Cougar from the Losers. I also made them married to their respective friend.
If anyone ever needs inspiration, I suggest buying the Sims. I have gotten so many brilliant ideas from watching these four interact. I love that the Sims are LGBT friendly because it means I get to watch my boys flirt, makeout, and even whoohoo (what they call sex in the game) with each other.
Except Harry and Cougar cheated on their spouses when Jensen was at the library and Perry was out working as a cop. Cougar is such a man-whore because he had whoohoo three times in one day, once with Harry and then twice with Jensen. Harry didn't like Jensen anymore after that because he had his heart broken all while Perry started to think about adopting a child for him and Harry. Perry isn't a great PI in this game, although he walked in on Cougar and Harry in bed and then had a big argument with Cougar and then embraced Harry. Cougar decided the next day that Harry and he should just be friends but Harry is still attracted to Cougar. It probably doesn't help that Harry is the only one without a job and spends most of his day painting while Cougar has made guitar playing skills after one day of owning a guitar. Cougar seduced him but then chose to stay with Jensen. Poor Harry is just confused since he's a hopeless romantic and Perry is such a workaholic and has already been promoted five times in the last week to now be the Lieutenant of the Police Force. Harry is thinking about working for the criminals in the town but I doubt he'll go far with that career.
Once I figure out how to adopt, I am totally getting Perry and Harry a little girl. Maybe another little girl for Jensen and Cougar too since Cougar has been reading many relationship books lately so I think he feels bad about cheating on Jensen and if ready to commit to him.
I have to say though, I really hate that I'm playing this in my basement because my family keeps coming down to watch. My mom was startled to see two men sharing a bed. "Guys don't do that in real life, Jordan. *pause* Unless they're homosexual. Actually, your brother and Mark did share a bed." (my brother is not homosexual, he is just a wrestler and any guy on a traveling sports team can probably recall sharing a bed with a teammate at one point or another) "Yeah, mom, a lot of the Crew boys share beds too. It's cheaper that way." Mom leaves. I mumble to myself, "And Perry is sharing a bed with his husband so it's perfectly fine." When Perry and Harry woke up I made them kiss just to spite my mother.
The worst was when my sister was watching me and she kept asking me why I found this game interesting. Honestly, it is pretty boring at times but that's normally when I make the characters flirt with one another. But I can't have two guys on screen make out with one another in front of my sister without feeling extremely awkward so I had to just be bored as well.
Anyways, I am having some awesome crossover fic ideas now. Yay! But they'll have to wait until much later when I can actually write. Luckily I have already decided not to bring the Sims to college or else I would flunk my classes, skip crew, and generally fail out of college.

Date: 2012-01-02 05:20 pm (UTC)So far I think I like The Sims 2 more than Sims 3, because nobody has made any Ninja Turtles for Sims 3 and it's just not as fun!

Date: 2012-01-03 05:10 pm (UTC)I was really confused with Sims 3 at first about designing the people and outfits but I would have loved for a TMNT option haha.

I would probably enjoy it for the house-arranging aspects, but I'm the sort of person who'd just pack her people off to work all day so she could play with their house while they're gone, and immediately lose interest in them and stop playing once she'd finished designing all the rooms and such. Fictional people never hold my interest long if I'm supposed to be interacting with them without writing fantastic adventures for them to go on.
Did you tell them to cheat, or do they do that on their own? Very drama-ish; they're getting themselves into all sorts of problems. I want to know what happens if Harry works for the criminals; will Perry arrest him?

Date: 2012-01-12 05:14 pm (UTC)Yeah, for a while I liked the building aspects more but now the people actually hold my interest because they do things on their own if I don't watch them. For example, no, I didn't tell them to cheat and they did that by themselves! I came back to the house and just saw the two of them flirting and then they went into the bedroom before I could stop it! Crazy, unfaithful Sims.
