“No way in hell,” Raph growled as he crossed his arms before him.
Mikey’s large smile and praying hands dropped. “It’s not like I’m asking for your permission, Raph.” He shot at his immediate older brother as he turned back to his master and father with a pleading expression once again. “Please, please, please, Master Splinter. He’s a really nice guy. He was just following Dunn’s orders from before and didn’t have a choice but to fight against us.” Mikey’s frown returned as he looked over his shoulder at the dark clone shuffling from one foot to another nervously. “Plus, he brought me flowers.” Mikey pointed out.
Master Splinter’s tail twitched as he looked around his youngest to see the large, red cloned turtle holding the lovely bouquet. “Yeah, but were they stolen or paid for?” Leo asked as he continued to hold tightly to his katanas. He didn’t feel safe with the current guests in the room, even if they had come without weapons as a sign of good nature.
“They were bought.” Leo’s clone, Leon, snapped as he defended his brother. “We’re done being bad guys; we’re doing things the honest, goody-two-shoes way now.”
“I have the receipt.” Rafieo, Raph’s clone, offered as he held up a small piece of paper.
“Flowers or not, it don’t mean ya can court our little brother.” Raph glared.
“Our brother’s intentions are pure towards your own; we aren’t conspiring against any of you.” Don’s clone, Donald, spoke up. “He’s had a crush on him for some time now and since Dunn kicked us out of our own lair last week and we decided to start a new leaf, well, he confessed that he would like to date Michelangelo.”
“So none of you have committed any crimes in the last week?” Don asked. “Well, that’s a start.”
“Not good enough though, ‘specially not fer datin’ Mikey.” Raph debated.
“Raph, it’s not your decision!” Mikey pouted as he stomped his foot on the ground. “So stop butting in already with your negative vibes, dude.”
“And you guys call me immature,” Mikey’s clone, Michael, rolled his eyes as he watched his original’s childish display. “You really sure you want to date that guy, Rafieo?”
Rafieo nodded his head. “He’s perfect.”
Mikey’s eyes twinkled happily. “See what I mean, Master Splinter? He’s such a sweet guy.”
“He’s just tryin’ ta play ya, Mikey.” Raph frowned. “I still say this is a set-up.”
“I’m sorry, Michelangelo.” Splinter finally spoke. “But I am afraid that I am uncomfortable with the idea of the two of you being alone.”
Mikey’s face fell, matching the same expression on Rafieo’s devastated face. Leon frowned at his brother’s unhappiness and stepped forward with an idea. “How about a double date then?”
“What?” Many asked at the same time as all eyes looked at Leon.
“A double date, so that Rafieo and Mikey aren’t alone. Raph and I can go, since he’s the one that seems so concerned about keeping Mikey safe.” Leon suggested. “Unless he thinks he wouldn’t be able to stop my brother and me if we did try something, which we won’t.”
Master Splinter turned his gaze onto his son in question. Raph had fallen silent as he stared at the other, contemplating over the challenge that had been issued. “As a father, I would feel much more at ease with that.” Splinter stated, watching as his youngest instantly turned to Raph.
“Raphie, please!” Mikey pleaded as he went on his knees and wrapped his arms around Raph’s legs. “Please say yes!”
“Oh, so now it is my decision?” Raph grunted as he tried to push Mikey off of him.
“Come on, Raph, one date won’t hurt you! It’ll be good for you to get out and meet people anyway.” Mikey tried to compromise.
“I won’t be meetin’ anyone but him,” Raph snarled as he pointed at the blue clone.
Leon smirked. “What’s wrong, Raph? The worst possible scenarios here are that you’ll be proven right and get to beat me and my brother up, or you’ll actually have a good time. What do you really have to lose? Besides, you’d be crushing your little brother’s heart if you denied him this chance.”
Raph froze as he realized that the clone was right. He looked down at Mikey still clinging to his legs and realized that he would be breaking Mikey’s heart and, really, that was his biggest fear about Mikey dating. “Fine,” Raph grumbled unhappily.
“You’re the best!” Mikey cheered exuberantly as he jumped up and ran over to Rafieo. “So do you want to do dinner and a movie?”
“Yeah,” Rafieo grinned widely as he held out the flowers for Mikey to finally take. “That sounds perfect. I guess Leon and I will be here tomorrow at five to pick you two up then, okay?”
“Okay, sounds great! See you two then.” Mikey inhaled the smell of his bouquet as he watched the four clones start to leave.
Leon caught Raph’s eyes before he slipped out of the door and winked as he saluted Raph, making the other’s face heat slightly even as his eyes narrowed.

Dinner hadn’t been as awkward as Mikey originally thought it would be. They had chosen a little diner that served food that kept a certain resemblance of the food during their time period in the past, which meant the food was cheap too. Leon had looked at the menu and laughed about it being a cheap date but Mikey had smiled good-naturedly, even as he had taken a look to his side at Raph, afraid that he would take offense to the comment. But Raph had remained quiet for most of the dinner, only talking when he really had something to input into the conversation. Mikey, being the master of small talk that he was, had made sure that the conversations were kept lively. Certain topics had evolved into long conversations until their food had arrived.
“How was everything?” The waitress asked as she started to gather their empty plates.
“Delicious,” Mikey smiled.
“Good to hear it,” she smiled. “So will this be separate checks?”
“Actually, I’ll be paying for him,” Rafieo commented as he pointed to Mikey.
“And I’ll be paying for him,” Leon thumbed at Raph.
“No, ya won’t.” Raph argued. “I’ll be paying fer myself, mam. So just bring three checks, please.” Raph told the waitress. She glanced at the four and then nodded as she quickly moved away.
Leon glared. “I was joking about the cheap date comment, you realize that, right?”
“I’m not yer date and I’m not gonna be in debt ta ya in any way.” Raph snapped. “These two are on a date, but we ain’t.”
“Then what are we doing here?” Leon questioned with a growl in his voice.
“Chaperoning,” Raph crossed his arms over his plastron.
“Hey, I’m seventeen, Raph, I don’t need to be chaperoned.” Mikey pouted.
“Tough,” Raph grumbled and then fell silent again until the checks arrived. Mikey and Rafieo picked up their conversation but Leon and Raph remained quiet until they got to the movie and bought tickets.
“Two please,” Leon requested as he quickly stepped in front of Raph in line. He turned around and shoved his extra ticket in Raph’s face. “Take it,” he bit out.
Raph glared. “Fine, but I’m buying a large popcorn and yer gonna share it with me so we’re even.”
“Fine,” Leon smirked triumphantly.
Raph quickly paid for popcorn and groaned as he realized that Mikey and Rafieo had bought popcorn to share too. He had fallen for Leon’s trap. “This still ain’t a date,” he grunted.
“Whatever you say, Raph,” Leon teased as he fell in step beside the other turtle.
“There’s some seats,” Mikey pointed out. “You two go in first,” he offered to Raph and Leon.
Only when Raph sat down did he realize that Mikey and Rafieo had moved to sit five rows in front of them. “Hey!” Raph shouted angrily.
“Let them be,” Leon scolded. “I thought my original was supposed to be the mother hen. It’s a movie; my brother isn’t going to try anything here.”
“Are ya kiddin’ me? It’s a movie; it’s where yer supposed ta try everything.” Raph argued.
“Try and enjoy yourself then,” Leon challenged as he grabbed a handful of popcorn.
“What are you doing?” Raph growled as he pulled the popcorn away from Leon.
Leon frowned, “I thought we were sharing.”
“Yeah, but ya don’t start eatin’ the popcorn until the movie starts or else ya end up eatin’ all of it before it even begins.” Raph explained.
“Right, then you go get a free refill. That’s how you actually get all your money’s worth on this expensive movie food.” Leon argued.
Raph rolled his eyes. “Ya shouldn’t be that hungry after dinner anyways. And look, the movie’s startin’ now anyway.” Leon grabbed another handful of popcorn and stared pointedly at Raph. His look went ignored in favor of the movie screen.
Halfway through the movie, Raph caught Rafieo’s arm wrapping around Mikey and pulling him closer. Raph nudged Leon in the side. “See?” He pointed at the two as he tossed a handful of popcorn at the couple. Mikey turned around angrily and glared at Raph as he defiantly moved to snuggle closer to Rafieo.
“That’s it,” Raph growled as he stood up.
“Relax,” Leon chided as he grabbed Raph’s arms and pulled him back down into his seat. “They’re having a good time, let them be.” He continued to hold Raph’s hand down on the armrest.
“Fine,” Raph sighed. “But if yer brother tries ta get fresh with him then I’m gonna throw something a little sharper than popcorn.”
“Okay,” Leon chuckled.
“And stop holdin’ my hand; this ain’t a date.” Raph quickly moved his hand back into his lap. Leon sighed and the two watched the rest of the movie in silence until the credits rolled by and the four moved to the lobby.
“Rafieo and I have to go to the bathroom,” Mikey decided as he grabbed Rafieo’s hand and started to tug him towards the men’s room. Raph huffed and turned to look at a moving display of featured movies. Mikey caught Leon’s eye and smirked as he turned and quickly dragged Rafieo out of the movie theater.
Leon chuckled, catching Raph’s attention. “What are ya laughin’ about?”
“Nothing,” Leon claimed. “Did you like the movie?”
“Yeah, it was pretty good. Coulda used more explosions though,” Raph shrugged his shoulders.
“Four buildings exploded.” Leon frowned.
“Five woulda been better,” Raph smirked and then glared at the bathroom. “Did Mikey fall in or somethin’?” He asked as he went to the men’s room himself. He ran out a moment later. “Where did they go?”
Leon shrugged. “They ditched us.”
“That little,” Raph growled as he started to call Mikey on his wrist guard. There wasn’t an answer. “When I get my hands on Mikey, I’m gonna kill him. This is the last time I do him a favor.” He stormed out of the theater with Leon trailing calmly behind him. “Where could they have gone?”
An idea struck Leon and he suggested, “They probably went to the park. I hear a lot of dates end with the couple walking through the park.”
“Perfect, we’re gonna check there then. Come on,” Raph started towards the park angrily.
“The stars look nice,” Leon commented as he followed Raph through the paved path in the park.
“Yeah,” Raph glanced up at the stars and then continued to look around the park wildly.
“And I bet those flowers look even better during the day.” Leon pondered.
“Probably,” Raph agreed quickly, second-glancing at the flowers they passed by.
“Maybe we could walk through the park during the day sometime and see for ourselves? I also heard that there’s a great ice cream shop opened during the day here.” Leon suggested.
“That sounds fun.” Raph nodded as he stared at a playground and tried to figure out if Mikey was on it. He discovered that the couple on the swings was not his brother or Rafieo. “Wait a minute,” Raph froze as he turned around to face Leon. “They’re not here, are they?”
“Afraid not,” Leon smirked. “Rafieo took Mikey back to our place to check out his comic book collection that he started. But don’t worry; Donald and Michael are there so I doubt they’ll go any farther than second base.”
“What? Take me there now!” Raph demanded.
Leon chuckled. “You want me to take you to my place that badly, Raph? I thought you were enjoying our stroll through the park?”
“Our stroll? I…” Raph face turned expressionless as he realized that he had been played. “This is a date, isn’t it?”
“Yeah, it is. So will you hold my hand now?” Leon asked as he held his hand out in offering. “We can finish walking through the park and I’ll take you to my place so you can pick Mikey up and take him home.”
Raph glared at Leon’s hand and then at his face. He sighed as he gripped the offered hand. “Fine,” he relented as he walked hand in hand with Leon through the quiet park.
The two finally reached Leon’s place and the door opened to a grinning Mikey. “I hope you enjoyed your date as much as I did, Raphie, because I already agreed on a second date for us.” Raph pulled his hand out of Leon’s and simmered silently. Mikey chuckled as he turned to Rafieo and stood on his tiptoes. “Thank you for the lovely evening, Rafieo.” He pressed a quick kiss to Rafieo’s beak. “I’ll see you later.”
“Later,” Rafieo grinned widely.
Raph’s eyes went wide as he stared at the kiss. He turned to look at Leon. “Don’t ya dare--” He began.
“I wouldn’t dream of it, Raph.” Leon assured.
Raph frowned, slightly disappointed, but he quickly covered up his minuscule amount of hurt. “Good.”
“A gentleman never kisses on the lips until the second date.” Leon explained as he leaned down and pressed a quick kiss to Raph’s cheek.
Raph blushed and pulled away as he slapped a hand over his cheek. “Hey!” He cried indignantly.
Leon chuckled. “Goodnight, Raph. I hope you had a great night. I’ll see you for our next date.” He stepped into his home and closed the door as Raph and Mikey began walking home.
“So, you do like Leon.” Mikey observed as Raph continued to hold his kissed cheek, his body feeling warm.
Raph glared and punched Mikey in the shoulder. “Don’t ditch me again, knucklehead.”
“But, Raphie, I thought you and Leon wanted to smooch in the park.” Mikey made kissing noises to further irritate his brother. Raph growled and Mikey chuckled as he held his hands up in the universal sign of surrender. “Really though, Raph, you don’t mind going on another date, do you?”
“Mikey, this wasn’t a date. But I wouldn’t mind havin’ my first date with Leon next time.” Raph smiled.

Date: 2011-05-24 02:38 pm (UTC)Leon hasn't bitched about it? Wow. I'm surprised. I thought for sure he be going off into a rant about infidality. However, I guess Leon's more low-key than Leonardo in that respect. He's prolly somehow blaming himself tho. He's annoyingly self-destructive in that way :P
