A miracle had happened, Raph decided, as he listened to the rusty pipes in the walls creak with anger at being drawn out of their retirement. He had never suspected this run-down apartment complex to actually have running water, and yet he stared in awe at the water raining down on the rusty ceramic tile. Raph was going to be able to take a shower, an honest to god shower that wasn’t just standing in the forest during a rainstorm with a piece of cloth and a bucket.

He stripped of his jacket, gloves, bandana, and the rest of his gear quickly as he jumped under the spray. Raph ducked his head and allowed the water to beat down on his shoulders. Even though the water wasn’t really hot, it was still a gift from above.

Raph closed his eye and pressed his hands against the cold wall as he evened out his breathing and just did his best to relax. This moment felt like heaven. It was almost like he was back in the past. His muscles were slowly loosening from the relaxing atmosphere. He could almost hear Don sneak into the shower behind him and offer to wash his shell.

Don would always be thorough but still gentle as he gave Raph’s shell a rubdown and then moved on to other parts of Raph’s body. Working his way down the back of Raph’s legs, Don would then tweak his tail and ask him to turn around so he could scrub at his shoulders and arms. Then Don would run the washcloth or even just his soapy hands down Raph’s plastron, purposefully missing his slit.

“I can’t forget to wash your feet,” Don would joke as he would kneel in front of Raph, his face at the perfect height for another activity that Raph would rather do. But then Don would stand up and whisper, “I missed a spot,” and Raph would drop down into Don’s waiting hand.

Raph used the chance to wrap his own hand around himself as the memories came back to him. Don’s voice, Don’s skin to skin contact, Don’s presence, Don, Donnie, Donnie-boy, Donatello with him. Donatello still being around. Donatello still being in love with him.

Raph opened his eye and stood up off of the tiles. The water is close to freezing now but he lets it run over the sticky cum on his hand and plastron and the tears leaking from his eye before twisting the knobs and letting the pipes go back to resting.

He stands in the shower and watches the water drain and fall from his body before he dresses again and keeps moving. In Shredder’s world, it’s never a good idea to stay in one place for too long. And the luxuries of a shower are just another pleasant memory.

Their relationship had always been strained even before their family fell apart there were still arguments and fights.

But whatever they had shared before had been killed. Now it was only little beads of blood and sweat, moans and screams, hands curling over wrists, teeth and fear and guilt.

Raph knows that the legs around him are tightening as much from cramping of fatigued muscles as desire to draw Raph in closer. The air is thick with desire. Raph can taste it as he swipes his tongue across Leo’s bared throat before he bites down.

He never asks but he knows that Leo can’t refuse him. He knows that he doesn’t need to pin him down, Leo isn’t going to fight him, but he does it anyway, just in case.

When they kiss they kiss with their teeth, a mixture of blood as much as saliva. The air is hot and wet and sticky and violent; fast and hard.

Raph is inside him in every possible way, flesh in flesh and blood on blood, a single eye locked with dull, unseeing ones, and Raph wants to melt into him, become part of him. He tries to hide in the energy and strength and courage and warmth that is Leo. Everything in him, as they move together, only skin between them. Raph pushes and Leo pushes back.

He’s hungry for this, starves for it, for the pain and pleasure hitching the others’ breathe. The white hot sparks exploding between them, shooting up throughout their bodies. Raph pushes and Leo pushes back.

When it’s over, Leo pulls on his trench coat quickly, wincing at the injuries he’s picked up. He doesn’t say anything, he never does. But he smiles softly and touched Raph’s face, just once, like he loves him.

Raph doesn’t know how to say “I love you,” or “I need you,” or “I’m sorry,” so he kisses him again, tenderly this time, and prays that Leo will understand.

Raph has to believe that Leo does.

It was a good place to hole up in while they waited for backup. He wouldn’t say that they were trapped, but if the enemy found them then they would definitely be backed into a corner. Raph was messing with his shell-cell but mostly getting static.

Casey was on guard and gripping his arm. He was banged up but he was better off than Raph so far. Raph had lost an eye. To say that things weren’t looking good would be a terrible pun. He just wished that backup would hurry up.

For an instant, Casey thought his wishes had been answered. Then he realized that the figure he’d spotted wasn’t one of their men. Casey’s fists had clenched but otherwise he stayed silent and motionless, keeping his presence hidden until he was close enough to jump at the guy and deliver a quick, and deadly, hit to the neck. The body crumbled to the ground.

Casey looked at the dead body, the scout that had been sent searching for them. One or many, no doubt, and when he wouldn’t return to report that he hadn’t found them, well, this was it. Raph frowned as he approached closing the shell-cell.

“I got through.” Good news. “We’ve got a twenty minute wait.” Not so good.

There was hope, but not if the enemy found them. A small force could defend their position, but not two people versus many, especially when one was now down to one eye. And if Raph died-

The thought expanded in Casey’s mind until it occupied every once-empty crevice.

If Raph died.

It took Casey a couple of seconds to recognize the single emotion that was crushing his heart as he stared at Raph. It wasn’t a feeling that Casey was very familiar with.

He was afraid. Like he’d never been before in his life.

Casey turned and walked towards Raph; his body felt like it was floating, but his mind was clear and racing, churning over at speed, orbiting that single thought.

If Raph died.

“Did you hear somethin’?” Raph asked slowly, eye narrowed as he glanced past Casey.

Casey reached out and put his hand on Raph’s shoulder. “Raph?” His friend looked back at him. His golden eye widened. Casey didn’t know what Raph saw in his face to make him stare like that, and it didn’t matter anymore.

“I’m sorry,” Casey stated, and hurled Raph straight back into the room. He grabbed and heaved the double doors shut then took out his last putter and, with the strength he’d cultivated most of his life, abetted by a good dose of desperation, he twisted it and did his best to knot it across the doors’ opening, stopping them from swinging outwards.

He stepped away just as Raph hurled himself against the metal on the other side.

“I’m sorry,” Casey repeated, already running down the hallway towards the exit. He could hear the crash of steel against steel as Raph used whatever energy he was capable to try and tear the door apart with his Sais. It wouldn’t work to keep the enemy away from Raph, but at this point, Casey’s measures should keep Raph out of danger for at least a little while.

Casey was going to have to take them all out, or at least lead them away from Raph, before a concerted search of the area found Raph, vulnerable with only one eye and barely any energy.

If Raph died.

No, not going to happen.

Raph wouldn’t be the one dying this night.

Damn, you were quick! XD

Thank you! Really, the first one? I still think that this last one I wrote was heart breaking, imo.

Yeah, that's true too. It just always is so, so hard to imagine one of the guys being gone from the others so it's fun to play with that idea.

Oh wow these were so heartbreaking! I liked the way you fit the memory/flash back into the first drabble. Usually authors do something annoying when they try to do a memory/flash back like actually write "Start Flash Back" and "End Flash Back." And then the RaphLeo fic described their relationship perfectly, I thought. But that last one was so sad! I hated that Casey died in SAINW and thinking that he died to protect Raph like that is such a sad thought!

Thank you so much! Yeah, that normally bothers me too when authors do that. But I'm glad you enjoyed all three! ^^

You did a fantastic job. I love that you can convey so much in such a short amount of words. Such is the sign of a good author. I'll admit I'm biased toward the Raph/Leo fic, but I really do love that mix of intensity, rawness, and love. Lots of fantastic sentences in that.

Thank you so much!~ I'm glad you really liked the RaphLeo drabble. I'm pretty partial to that pairing too. They're just so much fun paired together.
