January is almost over and I haven't even posted a fic yet! Bad, Jordan, very bad! >_< But I've been very busy lately since midterms were last week/this week/next week. And then Crew testing is next week too. And then it's February and then Spring break and then ten more weeks and I'm a Junior! :O Time just seems to be flying by right now, which is kinda nice. So, a little recap of what's been going on in my life sounds in order.
Oh, I forgot to mention that I got awarded Athlete of the Week last Saturday for Crew! ^^ I was so extremely proud. It's for Crew only, something my coach does during the second half of winter training for motivational purposes. He always goes on about the person first, describing why they deserved this, before actually announcing who it is. He was saying how proud he was of this person's determination to get better, all the extra work was worth it and has been noticed. That he was surprised because, this time last year, this person would have never gotten this award. But this person was able to overcome such challenges for the best and has been a huge addition to the team this year. Then he said my name and everyone clapped and I just beamed silently to myself. I'm still really happy about it because I get the special locker this week to put my stuff in for practice and my name added to the board. I told my parents and they were so proud of me. My dad called me, but I wasn't around, so he left me a message saying how proud he is of me. I'm keeping that message on my phone for a long, long time.
I was sick yesterday (there's a virus going around on campus so every other person has been sick this week), a bit of nausea but that might have just been a side-affect to the world spinning under me and my vision being blurry. I wasn't able to focus at all. So I skipped a class for a nap and then went to practice like the champ I was supposed to be demonstrating. I just biked while everyone else Erged, and I didn't fall off the bike so I considered it a success. I went to dinner afterwards with the other crew girls (at our school's cafe so nothing special since we do this four times a week) but I didn't eat much besides an apple with peanut butter and some soup. Anything else I tried to eat tasted bad. I walked back to my dorm with a group of the older crew girls and the co-captain told me how proud she was of me for persevering through this illness and coming to practice to show my support. Then I went to bed at 8 and woke up feeling much better today.
And one more thing; I'm going to be doing study abroad this summer! I'm leaning towards San Jose, Costa Rica, but I'll let you guys know if that changes. It seems like the best option though, especially since I'll earn 9 credits of Spanish which will almost complete my minor.
I think I know why I haven't been posting any fic lately. I'm in a LeeGaara mood right now. I go through strange urgings of reading certain pairings every now and again. But instead of just reading my favorite two or three fics for this pairing, I've decided to read any and every fic I could find for them, which means I'm purging the communities I find. I already went through two communities and I'm almost done with another one. Sadly, a plotbunny bit me so I wrote a chapter of that. Oh yeah, I also decided that I'm not posting fics until I finish the entire thing. So no new multi-chaptered fics from me until I actually have all the fic written, or at least a few chapters done first. One shots, drabbles, and connecting one shots will still be posted as I finish them though so no worries. This really only applies to the two or so multi-chaptered fics I actually have, like Only Gets Worse and oh, hey, final chapter you're still waiting for me to work on you...
Um, that's the end of my rambling then.

Date: 2011-01-20 11:55 pm (UTC)Not actually an option for studying abroad from my school. Or at least I didn't notice it listed. Also, probably wouldn't help with my Spanish minor so much lol.

Date: 2011-01-20 11:56 pm (UTC)Yeah, I keep pumping myself full of drugs too.
I have but I haven't gone very far. My best friend has been all over the world. I'm kinda really jealous of her experiences.

Date: 2011-01-20 11:04 pm (UTC)Aha, that's exactly how I am when I get into a specific pairing/fandom mood, it's like all I do for a month straight is read all the fic I can find.

Date: 2011-01-20 11:57 pm (UTC)Yeah, I hate it. It makes me feel so unproductive towards my actual fandom and then all my other little fandoms I'm into as well.

Actually, I found that out getting them confused in an actual conversation. Oops!
Have fun and try to stay well! Drink lots of tea. :)
You'll let us know before you leave, right?

Date: 2011-01-22 02:15 pm (UTC)And ooooooo...you get to leave the country. I dream about it, but would need SO MUCH VACAY TIME! O.O To do even half the things I want. (I want to get lost for a month in Ireland. I blame Nora Roberts for this, but I DO.) But...I lose Jordan.... Will you be able to take your cell/will they charge international rates for calls/texts?

Date: 2011-01-31 01:05 am (UTC)I'm not exactly sure what the deal will be with my cellphone. I'll have to find out, I suppose. Still, I'm sure they'll have internet and it will only be for five weeks at the most.
