“He didn’t mean it, Leo.” Raph stated as he stared at his brother run through kata after kata. Leo didn’t stop or even slow down as he continued with the smooth movements. Raph sighed and moved forward to join Leo with the kata. There was only one way to stop Leo when he got like he was. Pin him down and force him to talk.
Raph suddenly threw a punch at Leo when he should have kicked forward. Leo blocked it easily, ever the ninja, and the two went at it. Punch, block, kick, side kick, a sweep of the legs, and Raph took his chance to pin Leo down. “He didn’t mean it.” Raph hissed at Leo’s face.
“I heard you the first time.” Leo snarled as he thrashed under Raph. “And even if he didn’t mean it, it’s true. I’ve been hiding away in here--”
“So ya gonna continue ta do it?” Raph asked, interrupting him. Leo blinked blankly at Raph as he slowly closed his mouth.
"No," Leo stated, shaking his head. Raph smiled.

The container in his hand was still warm as he finally returned home. He kicked the door closed behind him and it made Michael and Leon jump on the couch.
“Hey,” Rafieo greeted.
“Wow, you’re alive! We thought for sure that you were dead since you’ve been gone for hours.” Michael commented as he stood up from the couch to investigate what smelled so good.
“Thanks for sending out a search party.” Rafieo rolled his eyes. Michael made a grab for the container which Rafieo quickly intersected and smacked Michael’s hand away. “Don’t touch.”
Michael frowned. “But it smells so good!” He insisted.
“It’s leftovers from what Mikey made for you guys.” Rafieo handed the container to Leon.
“Wait, if it’s for us why wasn’t I allowed to touch?” Michael asked.
“You’d break it somehow.” Rafieo stated easily, making Michael cross his arms over his plastron.
“We’ll save it for later. We did just eat.” Leon commented as he headed for the kitchen area to refrigerate the meal.
“Some meal that was,” Donald remarked from his cage. “We’ve had sandwich after sandwich for the past week because you idiots can’t cook something to save your lives.” Donald motioned to the dirty dishes still on the counter.
“Don’t like your bread and water? Tough,” Michael stuck his tongue out.
Donald narrowed his eyes. “If I wasn’t in this cage--”
“Yeah well you are and you deserve it.” Rafieo growled. “You’ve got no idea what Don’s going through ‘cause a you.”
Donald’s head perked up at the mention of Don. “You saw Donatello?”
“I ate dinner with the family since Mikey’s dad gave me permission to date Mikey now.” Rafieo explained, more to Leon and Michael than Donald.
“That’s cool.” Michael smiled.
“Did Donatello say anything about me?” Donald asked as he stood and gripped the bars with his hands.
“He can’t speak, far as I know.” Rafieo snarled. “But he’s gonna get better with some operation soon.”
Donald hummed to himself. “You know, Rafieo, once Donatello’s all better I’m sure he’ll start working on that portal in a rush to return to home so he can heal there. Once that portals done, then so is your relationship with Mikey. I could, perhaps, help you keep that relationship if--”
“Shut up!” Rafieo snarled and threw one of the plates sitting on the counter at Donald’s cage. The plate shattered and the pieces scratched lightly at Donald. Donald hissed and stepped back from the bars, glaring at Rafieo. “You can’t fucking fool me again, you sona bitch.” Rafieo clenched his hands into fists. “You don’t even care what you did to Donnie. You don’t give two flying shits that you’ve messed with his head so much that he screams and cowers in fear, even now when he acts like a child. He can’t feed himself, he can’t talk, and all you wanna do is--”
“Calm down,” Leon placed a hand on Rafieo’s arm. “You’ve got to calm down, Rafieo. Your rants always make you lose control.”
“Let him lose control,” Michael argued. “We can get out of here while Rafieo lets his anger out on helpless Donald.”
“Michael,” Leon hissed. “Donald’s an asshole but he’s still our brother.” He turned to Rafieo. “And we don’t want one brother to hurt another.”
“I’ve got another idea then,” Michael scowled. “Why don’t you travel back in time and tell that to Donald before he sawed my tail off!”
Leon swallowed and his hand clenched around Rafieo’s arm. “Two wrongs don’t make a right, Michael.”
“Yeah, well, Donald’s done way more than just one wrong.” Michael crossed his arms over his plastron and glared at Donald. “And I think Rafieo ripping him apart and gobbling his bits up seems like a fitting death. Nice and painful for him, just how he likes it.”
“I don’t eat people!” Rafieo interrupted as he turned his angry eyes to Michael. Michael quickly took a step back. “I’ve never ate someone before and I’m not gonna. Stop thinking I’m a cannibal just ‘cause I could. Anyone could eat someone else, not just me.”
“Okay, okay, I’m sorry.” Michael apologized as he held his hands up in the universal sign for peace.
Rafieo’s growl rumbled in his throat as he started to breathe heavily. “Calm down, think of being calm,” Leon repeated as he stroked Rafieo’s arm. Rafieo wasn’t normally an angry guy but he was quick to anger on certain subjects and when that happened, more often than not, thanks to Donald’s special pills, he lost control. “Just be calm.”
Rafieo looked down to focus on the floor except his arm caught his eye, more particularly, the orange bow on his arm. Rafieo rubbed the bandana tail with his opposite hand as he focused on slowing his breaths down. No one said anything more than Leon’s constant mumbling until Rafieo nodded his head.
“I’m fine,” he murmured and pulled away from Leon. “I’m heading to bed. I don’t know when Mikey’s gonna call me tomorrow.”
“Okay, sleep well.” Leon called. He sighed and looked at Michael. “Dodged that bullet, huh?” He smiled softly. Michael didn’t return the smile.
“I’m going to bed too.” Michael huffed as he turned around and strolled out of the room.
Leon sighed again only it wasn’t out of relief. He turned to face Donald and scowled. “Even locked up, you’re still trouble.”
Donald shrugged. “Get me a glass of ice water before you go off chasing your forlorn lover.” Leon rolled his eyes but grabbed a glass and filled it with tap water. He opened the freezer and grabbed some ice cubes to throw in, making the filled glass splash some water droplets onto his plastron in retaliation.
“Here,” Leon thrust the glass through the bars and Donald took it. Leon stepped over the shattered plate. “Try not to slit your wrists tonight, will you? I really don’t want to have to clean up your dead body first thing in the morning.”
“That would be too easy.” Donald snorted as he sipped from his glass. Leon snorted and turned the room’s lights off, casting Donald in darkness.
Donald smirked as he grabbed a larger piece of the broken plate and drew it into his cage. He placed it inside his right leg guard and snickered as he finished the water in his glass.
