#01-Blend

           
He never understood why Mikey wanted to leave the future, where he blended in with everyone, to return to the past where they had to remain hidden or fear sticking out like sore green, mutated turtles.

#02-Stain

           
Rafieo panicked as he looked at his glass that was once full of grape soda and the newly stained couch cushion; in an act of desperation, he flipped the cushion over and ran back to his bedroom to act like he knew of no soda.

#03-Island

           
“I like this planet,” Mikey explained to him as they watched the waves together, “It’s kind of like our own private island.”

#04-Apple

           
He watched as Mikey stood on his tiptoes and managed to just reach the bottom of the bright red fruit hanging from the tree and smirked as he stood; he easily walked over to the tree and plucked the fruit, handing it to the happy, small turtle.

#05-Paper

           
Rafieo snarled and crumpled up the paper, tossing it with the other dozen crumpled up balls lying near his trash can; he just couldn’t find the right words to write to Mikey no matter how many times he’s tried.

#06-Relax

           
“Just calm down, it’ll be fine,” Mikey promised him as he smiled and slowly led him to their bedroom.

#07-Leaves

          
 Rafieo’s favorite time to visit Casey’s farm was when all the brown leaves had fallen on the ground; it was the only time in the year that Mikey wasn’t able to sneak up on him.

#08-Proof

           
“It says so right here,” Mikey beamed as he pulled Rafieo over to the computer, making his face heat up as he stared at the screen of different positions.

#09-Ugly

           
He was insulted on a daily basis but he would never forget the one insult that hurt the most; back when Michael had told him, after they had spent the entire night bonding and sharing secrets with each other because they were actually starting to get along, that Mikey would never like him because he was too ugly.

#10-Book

           
The first book he ever read on his own was to his little girl about a big red dog and Mikey smiled at him with every turn of the pages.

#11-Brood

           
“Hey there, Mr. Broody face,” Mikey smirked as he slid into Rafieo’s lap, “I know what’ll make you happy.”

#12-Mesh

           
“I call them Raphardo,” Mikey grinned as he got Rafieo to chuckle and agree that the name was fitting for the couple.

#13-Soft

           
Rafieo was afraid to hold Mauna at first, due to her shell being so soft; he didn’t want to hurt his little girl.

#14-Shelf

           
Mikey stood on his tiptoes as he struggled to reach the top shelf; Rafieo simply grabbed the action figure, gave it to Mikey, and watched as the happy turtle ran off to yell at his brother for hiding it in the first place.

#15-Alone

           
Rafieo was born into a large capsule, alone, he had spent a night in an abandoned alley when his brothers had ditched him, alone, and he had many lonely nights spent locked up in his room, but he never felt more alone until his first night without Mikey in his bed.

#16-Fall

          
  “I’ve got you,” Rafieo cooed as he cradled Mikey to his plastron, “I’m not gonna let you fall, not ever.”

#17-Knot

           
Rafieo growled in frustration, “I don’t see why we need to learn this; we don’t wear shoes anyway!”

#18-Crowd

           
Even in the future, mixed with a bunch of different alien races, Rafieo felt like he stuck out in a crowd.

#19-Denial

           
“You can deny it all you want but you know I’m right,” Mikey smirked and ducked as Rafieo threw a pillow at him.

#20-Train

          
  “Well,” Mikey chuckled as he stood over Rafieo, admiring the blindfold and chains against his red skin, “It’s not how Master Splinter trained us for this lesson but I think it’ll still work.”

#21-Fur

           
Rafieo loved to stroke David’s soft fur for hours, taking comfort in the company and the calming sound of the cat’s purr.

#22-Chrome

           
Casey shoved Rafieo lightly, “What do you chrome-domes know about hair styles anyway?”

#23-Heart

           
“This belongs to you,” Mikey offered as he opened his hand, revealing the paper heart with his name written on it.

#24-Intention

           
“That wasn’t,” Rafieo faltered as the door slammed in his face, “I didn’t mean to.”

#25-Push

           
“Mauna,” Rafieo growled and pulled her away from the others, “If you’re going to be a bully then you’re not allowed to play with them.”

#26-Look

           
“Come look at this and tell me it’s not love,” Raph challenged as he motioned Leo over to see Mikey and Rafieo curled on the couch together, fast asleep.

#27-Weight

           
When Rafieo stepped onto the scale for the family’s routine checkup, the scale was crushed under his feet.

#28-Spider

           
Rafieo jumped with a shrill cry and Mikey burst into tears as he laughed so hard at the sight, shouting between bursts of laughter, “You really are Raph’s clone; you act just like he does when he sees a spider!”

#29-Robe

           
Mikey moved his hips slowly and inched the robe off of his arms, keeping Rafieo in suspense for the body beneath that he was already so familiar with.

#30-Umbrella

           
“No more, Mikey,” Rafieo threatened as he snapped the CD in half, “If I hear umbrella-ella-ella-eh-eh-eh one more time I won’t be able to control myself.”

#31-Surface

           
Rafieo couldn’t understand how a free soul like Mikey’s was able to be contained under the surface world for sixteen long years.

#32-Idea

           
Rafieo smirked as he pressed up behind Mikey and tweaked his tail, whispering, “I have an idea for tonight.”

#33-Diamond

           
He stared at the collection under the glass and although it wasn’t the biggest, it shined the brightest; it was perfect for Mikey.

#34-Blind

           
When Mikey would tell him that he was beautiful he would mumble a ‘thanks,’ because it was polite, but walked away wondering if Mikey was blind.

#35-Flow

           
He figured he didn’t really need to speak up during the team meetings since he always ended up just going with whatever they all decided upon.

#36-Movement

           
Rafieo stilled as he caught movement at the corner of his eye; he used what he had been trained to do so far but was still unprepared for the surprised hug from above that Mikey gave him.

#37-More

           
“More,” Mikey begged him, his voice high pitched and pleading just like Rafieo liked it.

#38-Honey

           
“More,” Mauna and Mikey exclaimed in unison as Rafieo continued to squeeze the bottle’s content into the pot of tea.

#39-Weather

           
“Well, it could get worse,” Mikey told him just as the cloud’s gathered and a downpour drenched them.

#40-Blue

          
  Leon rolled his eyes and shoved Rafieo, knocking him right into Mikey, with a call of, “So when were you planning on asking that Mikey kid out, oh my, look, there he is; how convenient!”

#41-Double

           
“Let’s double team them,” Mikey’s eyes twinkled as Rafieo returned the grin and they both rushed the group of Foot members.

#42-Braid

          
  Rafieo bit back his laughter as he watched Mauna braid Casey’s hair and reach for a hair clip.

#43-Thread

           
“You’ve got a loose thread on your cape,” Rafieo commented as he kissed the Turtle Titan good luck.

#44-Angles

           
“Don, I know I asked you to give me lessons and stuff,” Rafieo sighed as he glanced at the paper, “But when will I ever need to know the difference between all these kinds of angles.”

#45-Daydream

           
When Rafieo caught Mikey daydreaming he loved to come up from behind and give him a surprise kiss.

#46-Nightmare

           
“It was horrible,” Mikey continued as Rafieo cradled him, “They diced the carrots right in front of me too!”

#47-Honor

           
Rafieo bowed to the small rat that seemed so feeble and knelt when motioned to as he finally asked for permission to take Mikey’s hand in marriage.

#48-Palm

          
  Mauna’s tiny hand felt soft against the center of Rafieo’s palm.

#49-Screen

           
“Rafieo, wait, there’s a--” Rafieo ran right through the screen door before Mikey could finish his warning.

#50-Warmth

           
Rafieo pulled Mikey closer to him, sharing the little terrapin’s warmth as they continued to lounge in their bed until early afternoon.
