Sorry to the 20-ish messages I still need to read and reply to, but I've been super busy with filling
springkink prompts, homework, practicums, and crew. But I still wanted to take the time today to say that a step has been taken in the right direction of LGBT rights in the USA. That's right, as of today, "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" is completely repealed.
A statement from President Obama pretty much sums up how I feel;
"Today, the discriminatory law known as ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ is finally and formally repealed. As of today, patriotic Americans in uniform will no longer have to lie about who they are in order to serve the country they love."
I am now happy to know that if I wanted to join the military, which I am considering as an option if the job situation doesn't work out, I wouldn't have to hide myself.
